The government has filed a review petition against the court’s order to shift PTI founder Imran Khan from prison to a private hospital.
The review petition was filed by the Chief Commissioner Islamabad, arguing that the jail rules already define the procedure for transferring a prisoner to a hospital. The petition claims that these rules were not properly considered in the court’s decision.
The government also argued that the order was issued without giving notices to the concerned parties and that final relief cannot be granted at an interim stage of the case.
The Supreme Court had earlier ordered that Imran Khan be shifted to Shifa International Hospital within two days. The court also directed authorities to form a medical board comprising specialists and ensure one family meeting per week.
The court further ordered the government to ensure Imran Khan’s security at the hospital and submit his complete medical record along with details of cases registered against him.
