The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast a new spell of rain, thunderstorms and strong winds in different parts of the country from today until September 5.
According to the weather department, upper parts of Balochistan are expected to receive rain with thunderstorms and strong winds from September 3 to 5. Rain is likely in Zhob, Musakhel, Sherani, Khuzdar and surrounding areas.
The weather department said that the western weather system is expected to become stronger in the upper areas on September 4 and 5, which may lead to more intense rainfall and strong winds.
Authorities have warned that heavy rain and strong winds could damage weak structures, electricity poles, billboards and solar panels. Citizens have been advised to take precautionary measures during severe weather.
Meanwhile, heavy rains have caused damage in different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Two people were killed and three others were injured after roofs and walls of houses collapsed due to the rainfall.
The deceased include a woman and a child. Heavy rains also damaged nine houses, while four houses were completely destroyed. At least 41 livestock were also affected by heavy rain and flash floods.
The incidents were reported in Buner, Mardan, Mohmand and Shangla. Following the situation, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) directed all concerned departments to remain alert and ensure necessary safety arrangements.
Citizens have also been advised to avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rainfall and strong winds and to stay in safe places.
