Birmingham: Pakistan made a disappointing start with the bat in the third and final Test against England, losing four wickets for just 26 runs in the early stages of their first innings.
England won the toss in Birmingham and opted to bowl first. Pakistan opened the innings with Saim Ayub and Azan Owais, but Saim was dismissed without scoring a run.
Azan Owais also failed to make a significant contribution and was sent back after scoring just nine runs. Abdullah Shafique then fell for three runs to Robinson, further increasing the pressure on Pakistan’s batting lineup.
Pakistan suffered another setback when captain Shan Masood was dismissed by Archer, leaving the visitors four wickets down for only 26 runs.
Three Pakistani players are making their Test debuts in the match. Ghazi Ghori, Razaullah and Imran Randhawa have been included in the playing XI for the final Test.
Saud Shakeel presented the Test cap to Ghazi Ghori, while Mohammad Abbas handed the cap to Razaullah and Babar Azam presented the Test cap to Imran Randhawa.
England already have an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match Test series. Pakistan will now look to recover from the early collapse and finish the series on a positive note.
