Pakistan national team players Mohammad Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq have been ruled ineligible to participate in the upcoming domestic cricket matches.
According to sources, both players will not be able to play in the President’s Trophy Grade-I because they did not undergo the required fitness tests with their respective departmental teams.
Under Pakistan Cricket Board rules, teams are required to conduct fitness tests for players participating in first-class cricket and submit the relevant fitness reports. However, no fitness reports for Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq are currently available with their departments.
Sources said that the absence of fitness tests and the required reports means both cricketers do not meet the eligibility requirements for domestic cricket.
Mohammad Rizwan is the vice-captain of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL). He was expected to lead the team in the first round in the absence of captain Shan Masood. SNGPL are scheduled to play their opening match against State Bank.
Imam-ul-Haq, meanwhile, is the captain of Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL). His team is scheduled to face Pakistan Television (PTV) in its opening match.
The absence of the two experienced players could affect the plans of their respective teams as they prepare for the opening round of the domestic competition.
