OpenAI has announced new safety features for users under 18 as part of a safer ChatGPT experience for teenagers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company says the new ChatGPT for Teens<\/strong> experience is designed to reduce the risk of young users developing an overly human-like connection with AI and to encourage healthier use of the chatbot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Teen users will be able to turn off ChatGPT\u2019s human-like voice responses. They will also receive reminders to take breaks if they spend long periods using the chatbot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Users aged 13 to 17 who provide their age when creating an account will automatically receive the teen experience. OpenAI may also place users in the teen experience if its systems determine that they are under 18. ChatGPT is not available for children under 13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n OpenAI said the new measures are not a response to any single incident, but are part of its wider effort to address concerns about how people interact with AI systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The company is also improving Study Mode<\/strong> for teenagers.
