Pakistan and Google have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening cooperation in digital skills, information technology exports, innovation and the country\u2019s broader digital transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A reception was hosted in honor of the Google delegation under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, where the agreement was signed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under the MoU, Google will provide 150,000 opportunities for Google Career Certificates in Pakistan during 2026. Pakistani students will also receive free access for one year to Google AI Plus and advanced artificial intelligence tools, including Gemini.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The agreement also includes cooperation on establishing an AI Center of Excellence in Islamabad and providing young Pakistanis with training aligned with the requirements of the global digital market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pakistan and Google will also work to strengthen the international competitiveness of the country\u2019s mobile application and gaming industries, while promoting digital payments and expanding the scope of digital commerce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A joint task force comprising representatives from the government, Google and relevant stakeholders will also be established to support the government\u2019s vision of increasing Pakistan\u2019s IT exports and digital economy to $30 billion by 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The MoU has been described as an important step toward expanding Pakistan\u2019s digital economy, developing a skilled technology workforce and creating greater opportunities for young people in the global digital market.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
