Former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq has resigned from the national selection committee following the Pakistan Test team\u2019s poor performance against England.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to sources, Misbah-ul-Haq has submitted his resignation to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), which has confirmed receiving it. Meanwhile, former Test cricketer Asad Shafiq is also reportedly considering resigning from the selection committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The national selection committee has come under intense criticism following Pakistan\u2019s heavy defeat at the hands of England. The PCB has also initiated a series of measures in response to the team\u2019s recent performances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Former Test cricketer Tauseef Ahmed, while speaking to the media, questioned the record of those who are now resigning and asked what kind of teams they had previously put forward. He said resignations were a positive step, but the team\u2019s performance had been extremely poor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tauseef Ahmed also pointed out that Pakistan\u2019s struggles have been visible in both red-ball and white-ball cricket. He questioned whether team selection was solely the responsibility of head coach Mike Hesson or whether other individuals were also involved in making decisions behind the scenes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, the PCB had decided a day earlier to remove Pakistan Test team head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul following the team\u2019s poor performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mike Hesson is reportedly likely to be appointed as the new head coach of the Pakistan Test team, while Ashley Noffke is being considered for the role of bowling coach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
