A surprising account about Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has emerged, with filmmaker Sanjay Gupta recalling how the actor allegedly refused to bow to pressure from Mumbai\u2019s underworld during the 1990s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking in a recent interview, Sanjay Gupta discussed the influence of the underworld on the Indian film industry during the 1990s, a period when fear and intimidation reportedly affected actors, actresses, directors and other people associated with the film business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the filmmaker, leading actors and actresses were sometimes pressured into signing specific films, while people associated with the underworld would even visit film sets and watch ongoing shoots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gupta said Shah Rukh Khan was among the few personalities who were unwilling to give in to such pressure. He recalled that when the actor was allegedly threatened and pressured to work in certain films or shows, Shah Rukh Khan made it clear that he would not agree to their demands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Describing the actor\u2019s alleged response, Sanjay Gupta said Shah Rukh Khan reportedly told them, \u201cI\u2019m a Pathan, if you want to shoot me, shoot me. I\u2019m not afraid of you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
