Pakistan Women Beat Hong Kong by 72 Runs to Reach Asia Cup Semi-Finals

Pakistan Women’s cricket team defeated Hong Kong Women by 72 runs in the Women’s Asia Cup in Dubai to secure a place in the semi-finals of the tournament.

Batting first, Pakistan scored 143 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Shawaal Zulfiqar was the top scorer for Pakistan with 47 runs, while Ayesha Zafar contributed 26 runs. Captain Fatima Sana also played an important unbeaten innings of 24 runs to help Pakistan post a competitive total.

Chasing a target of 144 runs, Hong Kong Women struggled against Pakistan’s bowling attack and were bowled out for just 71 runs. Pakistan spinner Nashra Sandhu produced a brilliant performance, taking 6 wickets for only 7 runs.

Nashra’s outstanding figures also became the best bowling performance in Pakistan Women’s T20 history. Her impressive spell completely disrupted Hong Kong’s batting lineup and played a key role in Pakistan’s convincing victory.

With the 72-run win, Pakistan Women have qualified for the semi-finals of the Women’s Asia Cup. Pakistan will face Sri Lanka Women in the semi-final on September 11.
